Walk like an Egyptian. Egyptian inspired style flourished during the period 1820-1850, and was used primarily for memorials, cemetaries, and prisons. The Egyptian Revival made a comeback inspiring both fashion and interior design during the 1920s with the development of Art Deco and the fascination with the discovery of King Tutankhamen’s tomb in 1922. The 1963 epic film Cleopatra, directed by Joseph L.Mankiewicz portreys a 60’s take on this classic style inspiration.
